All the new Monna Lisa models feature the new specially-designed Epson Type-M heads properly studied for using GENESTA® textile inks.
The head-ink combination is crucial for correct operation of the printing system and for achieving top-quality standards.
The Type-M heads are the natural evolution of 160B heads used on previous Monna Lisa® versions.
Head resolution is always 360 DPI, but the number of printing nozzles increases considerably.
While the 160B head featured 360 nozzles arranged in two x 180 rows, the new head features 1440 nozzles arranged in eight x 180 rows.
A single head is therefore able to print 8 different colors at the same time with 180 DPI resolution, or 4 different colors with 360 DPI resolution.
Another major feature of the new heads concerns the variable “dot-size”, with choice of levels of colour dot heaviness, increasing from 3 to 6.
The use of the new heads on Monna Lisa® thus permits not only an extraordinary increase in production speed but also much better printing quality.
